Environmental Consulting & Natural Resource Development
I2M has been built around a widely recognized professional geologist/hydrogeologist (Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H) and a seasoned professional environmental engineer. The latter, Richard C. Bost, P.E., P.G., was recently elected President and serves as Chief Engineer of I2M Associates, LLC. He joined I2M as a Senior Engineering Associate in late 2011 after retiring as Senior Partner and Officer of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) where he played a significant role in ERM’s expansion internationally over more than 25 years, becoming the world’s largest privately held environmental consultancy. He is well known in the environmental and geotechnical engineering industries in the U.S..
Mr. Bost is also well known as a Principal Investigator for projects on industrial risk, environmental compliance, and other environmental engineering services, primarily for the oil and gas, petrochemical and related service company industries. He has managed the design of remedial plans for chromium and other metals in soils, chlorinated solvent and petroleum hydrocarbon plumes in complex settings. He is a graduate of Rice University in environmental engineering (and was named Rice’s Outstanding Engineering Alum of the Year in 2002). Mr. Bost was appointed Chair of the Renewable Energy Committee of the Energy Minerals Division (EMD) of AAPG in 2013.
Mr. Bost acquired the interests held by I2M Founder and Past President, Jeffrey D. King, P.G. in early 2016. Mr. Bost is preparing for a significant expansion of I2M and other activities by moving into large environmental planning and remediation projects throughout the U.S., along with maintaining current litigation support as an Expert Witness in the U.S..
Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H., who is also a graduate of Rice University and The Ohio State University, has been re-confirmed as Executive Vice President and Chief Geologist / Chief Hydrogeologist. He provides management of operations and technical oversight on a variety of projects in the U.S. and overseas. Over the past decades, Mr. Campbell has served the CONOCO mining group in Australia and Wyoming; Teton Exploration, Div. of United Nuclear Corporation in Casper as District Geologist; and as a consultant to Texas Eastern Nuclear, Inc.; Pioneer Nuclear, Inc.; Omega Energy Corporation in Houston; and as an employee in a number of Houston-based national environmental engineering groups as Senior Hydrogeologist and later Chief Hydrogeologist, such as Law Engineering, and Senior Management Consultant for ERM, and in similar roles in Seattle and Houston.
For the DuPont Environmental Group (DERS) in the early-1990s, he served as Regional Technical Manager with line-responsibility for five departments (i.e., geology, environmental services, injection well services, design and remediation engineering), after which Mr. Campbell spent almost 20 years in private practice as a senior consultant, expert witness and consulting expert, principal instructor, and senior program manager before joining I2M Associates, LLC in 2010 (more).
In recognition of his professional contributions over the years, Mr. Campbell has been elected a Fellow in the Geological Society of America, a Fellow in the Society of Economic Geology, a Fellow (and Chartered Geologist) in the Geological Society of London, a Fellow in the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, a Registered Member in the Society of Mining and Exploration, as a European Geologist in European Federation of Geologists, and was a Founding Member of the Energy Minerals Division (EMD) of AAPG in 1977. In pro bono, he was appointed Chair of the Uranium (Nuclear and Rare Earth) Committee of EMD in 2004, and was elected President of EMD in 2010. More recently, he was elected Vice President – Eastern Texas for the American Institute of Professional Geologists – Texas Section in 2014.
Mr. Bost has formed the group, I2M-Reardon, LLC, which delivers effective in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) environmental remediation technology through high- and low-pressure injection and associated technology for major environmental engineering consultants and industrial clients around the U.S. Mr. Bost indicated that he is considering additional acquisitions of small firms and associated personnel to enhance his other company’s capabilities and coverage.
Recently, he is spending more time to devote to his personal consulting interests as an expert witness and to the new companies he is forming with other associates, both activities of which are to avoid the appearance of any conflicts of interest with I2M Associates, LLC. He will be available for engineering consultation on I2M projects as the need arises.
As Mr. Bost transitions to his other ventures, the newest officer of I2M, M. David Campbell, P.G. will be reconfirming and expanding on the historical goals of I2M in the areas of environmental and natural resource investigations. His professional experience extends over more than 25 years in managing Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments and natural resource investigations with major environmental engineering and consulting companies such as ERM, Carter & Burgess, Delta Environmental, Alsay, M. D. Campbell & Associates, L.P., and others, much of which working with his father, I2M’s Executive Vice President and Chief Geologist/Chief Hydrogeologist, Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H., C.P.G., on environmental and mining-related projects around the lower U.S. and in Australia, Vietnam, and Alaska.
